093_HR0293 LRB093 11752 KEF 15650 r 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The highest award the National Council of the 3 Boy Scouts of America can bestow upon a Scout is that of 4 Eagle Scout; and 5 WHEREAS, Aaron David Goldsberry of Boy Scout Troop 114, 6 in Jonesboro, will receive the Eagle Scout Award at a Court 7 of Honor to be held in mid-May 2003; and 8 WHEREAS, In order to qualify as an Eagle Scout, a young 9 man must demonstrate outstanding qualities of leadership, a 10 willingness to be of help to others, and superior skills in 11 camping, lifesaving, and first aid; and 12 WHEREAS, Aaron attends Anna Jonesboro High School and 13 this is his 2nd year in the local Honor Society; he received 14 the Outstanding Service Award from the Anna Jonesboro High 15 School for having completed over 200 hours of volunteerism in 16 the last year; he is a member of the Order of Arrow and the 17 2nd Vice Chief of the Chapter Lodge Society; for his Eagle 18 Project he collected 3500 articles of winter clothing for a 19 local shelter; he is a junior leader in special needs troop 20 851; and he has served on staff at Cub Scouts and Webelos 21 Camp; and 22 WHEREAS, Aaron has served as Den Chief, Troop Guide, 23 Patrol Leader, Jamboree Reporter, and Patrol Quartermaster; 24 and 25 WHEREAS, In earning this high rank, Aaron joins an elite 26 and honorable fraternity of achievers that counts among its 27 members an extraordinary number of this nation's great 28 leaders in business, government, education, and other sectors 29 of society; and 30 WHEREAS, The achievement of the rank of Eagle Scout 31 reflects favorably upon the recipient, his justly proud -2- LRB093 11752 KEF 15650 r 1 family, his Scoutmaster, and his fellow scouts; therefore, be 2 it 3 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 4 NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 5 we join his family and friends in congratulating Aaron David 6 Goldsberry upon attaining the coveted rank of Eagle Scout and 7 commend him upon the unswerving dedication to excellence that 8 is the hallmark of the Eagle Scout; and be it further 9 RESOLVED, That we thank Eagle Scout Goldberry for taking 10 time out of his busy schedule to help his community through 11 his scouting activities; and be it further 12 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 13 presented to Eagle Scout Aaron David Goldsberry as an 14 expression of our respect and esteem.
