093_HR0277 LRB093 11711 KEF 15441 r 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives were 3 saddened to learn of the death of Florida May Brown of 4 Chicago; and 5 WHEREAS, Mrs. Brown was born on February 12, 1920 in 6 Clarksdale, Mississippi to Willie and Hattie Buckhalter; and 7 WHEREAS, Mrs. Brown relocated to Chicago where she 8 married the late Forrest W. Brown Jr. and impacted upon 9 communities both locally and globally through her active 10 membership in organizations such as Salem House, the SRI 11 (Stanford Research Institute), and Park Manor Neighbors; and 12 WHEREAS, Mrs. Brown has received numerous awards and 13 recognitions during her 33 years of Federal Service; through 14 her untiring public, private, and community involvement she 15 worked to sponsor countless children and individuals into 16 summer work, full-time career positions, and education 17 scholarship programs; later in her life, she was inducted 18 into the Senior Citizens Hall of Fame of Chicago and also 19 obtained her bachelor's degree at age 63; and 20 WHEREAS, Mrs. Brown will be greatly missed by countless 21 communities, families, and individuals, especially her son, 22 Forrest W. Brown III and his wife, Janice M. Brown; her 23 grandchildren, Jayna L. Brown, Forrest Brown IV, Tracey 24 Brown, and Tomel Lamb; her nephew, Brian Boulware and wife 25 Sandy Boulware; her nieces, Karen Boulware and Lauren 26 Boulware; and a host of other nieces and nephews; therefore, 27 be it 28 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 29 NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 30 we mourn the death of Florida May Brown along with all who 31 knew and loved her and extend our sincere condolences to her -2- LRB093 11711 KEF 15441 r 1 family and friends; and be it further 2 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 3 presented to the family of Florida May Brown as an expression 4 of our deepest sympathy.
