 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The  institution  of  marriage  is  one  of  the
 3    cornerstones upon which our  society is built, and a marriage
 4    that  has  achieved  a notable longevity is truly a model for
 5    the people of the State of Illinois; and

 6        WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Mr.  and  Mrs.
 7    John  Antosh  of  Park  Ridge  will  celebrate  the  fiftieth
 8    anniversary of their marriage; and

 9        WHEREAS, John E. Antosh and Dorothy E. Schulz were united
10    in  holy  matrimony  on    April  25,  1953  on  the one year
11    anniversary of their first date  at  Maternity  BVM  Catholic
12    Church in Chicago; and

13        WHEREAS,  A  1949  graduate  of  Schurz  High  School  in
14    Chicago,  Dorothy worked as the secretary to the President of
15    Plastic Molders, Inc. from 1949-1955; in the years 1973-1989,
16    she worked as a reconciliation person for Medidentic Co.,  in
17    the  reimbursement section in the Park Ridge City Hall and as
18    a bookkeeper at Pro-Optics; since 1956, she has enjoyed  life
19    as  a  mother,  wife, and homemaker and takes pleasure in the
20    planning of family events and creating lasting memories; and

21        WHEREAS, John Antosh served his country during World  War
22    II  in  the United States Marines; during his service in 1945
23    and 1946, he was in the H & S Company of the 5th Marines, 1st
24    Division; his job was to guard the food trains traveling from
25    Peking to Tangsien in China; John also trained as a carpenter
26    and was responsible for supervising crews in  the  remodeling
27    of a Japanese Hospital for U.S. Troop usage; and

28        WHEREAS, After being discharged he worked with his father
29    at  Continental Plastic from October 1946-April 1948; at that
30    time John and his  family  moved  to  Rhinelander,  Wisconsin
31    where  his  father  started  Rhinelander Products, where they

 1    both worked from April 1948-June 1950; at that time John  and
 2    his  family  moved  back  to  Chicago and began JGA & Sons, a
 3    plastic molding company; John took over the company  in  1961
 4    and owned and operated it until his retirement in 1983; and

 5        WHEREAS,  Mr.  Antosh  enjoys  vacationing,  golfing with
 6    family and friends, and the occasional gambling junket; and

 7        WHEREAS, John and Dorothy Antosh are the  loving  parents
 8    of  John  Jr. (wife, Joanne), Michael (wife, Bonnie), Nancye,
 9    Peter (wife, Rita), and Thomas; and they are the grandparents
10    of Tristin, Kristin, Keith, Jeffrey,  Carly,  Nicole,  Ronald
11    Jr., Robyn, Hilary, Mark, and Robert; and

12        WHEREAS,  The  respect  for  marriage  reaches one of its
13    highest plateaus when a  couple  such  as  John  and  Dorothy
14    Antosh celebrate their golden wedding anniversary; and

15        WHEREAS, John and Dorothy Antosh stand as examples of the
16    best  of  our  society,  and  their love and devotion to each
17    other and to their family and friends serve as a reminder  to
18    all   that  hard  work,  dedication,  and  love  can  make  a
19    difference in today's world; therefore, be it

20        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES   OF   THE
21    NINETY-THIRD  GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
22    we congratulate John and Dorothy Antosh on the   occasion  of
23    their fiftieth wedding anniversary; that we commend them for
24    achieving  a  long  and happy marriage, blessed with children
25    and grandchildren and rich in friendships and  that  we  wish
26    them  happiness  and  good  health  in  the future; and be it
27    further

28        RESOLVED, That a suitable  copy  of  this  resolution  be
29    presented  to John and Dorothy Antosh as an expression of our
30    respect and esteem.
