 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The Highland  Park  Human  Relations  Commission
 3    selected  the  2002 Highland Park Humanitarian Award to honor
 4    outstanding   Highland   Park   individuals   who    rendered
 5    significant  personal service to the Highland Park community;
 6    and

 7        WHEREAS,  Highland  Park's  Human  Relations   Commission
 8    selected   candidates   based  on  the  breadth,  scope,  and
 9    significance of community activities; and

10        WHEREAS, The 2002 Highland  Park  Humanitarian  Award  is
11    being presented to Bruno Bertucci on February 13, 2003; he is
12    a lifelong resident of Highland Park who has for many decades
13    devoted   himself   extensively  to  helping  others  in  the
14    community; and

15        WHEREAS,  Mr.  Bertucci  has  served  on  the  board   of
16    directors  for United Way, Catholic Charities of Lake County,
17    and the Highland Park and Highwood Chambers of  Commerce,  he
18    has  also  served  as  Chairman  of  the  Highland Park Human
19    Relations Commission and  the  Highland  Park  Sister  Cities
20    Foundation;  in addition he has given his own time to aid and
21    assist many Highland Park citizens; he has worked with  young
22    people  and  founded  the  little league at Old Elm Park; Mr.
23    Bertucci has made a career of visiting those who are  ill  at
24    Highland Park Hospital, in nursing homes, and in their homes;
25    hardly  a day goes by when he is not assisting others in need
26    and performing humanitarian services for the  people  of  his
27    community; and

28        WHEREAS,  Mr. Bertucci is retired as Director of Highwood
29    Chamber of Commerce, and past President of Sun Valley  Dairy;
30    he is currently the commander of the Highwood American Legion
31    Post; and

 1        WHEREAS,  Mr.  Bertucci  is joined in his private life by
 2    his  wife,  Lena,  his  children,  and   his   grandchildren;
 3    therefore, be it

 4        RESOLVED,   BY   THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES  OF  THE
 5    NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS,  that
 6    we  offer  our congratulations to Bruno Bertucci on receiving
 7    the 2002 Highland Park Humanitarian award and wish him health
 8    and happiness for the future; and be it further

 9        RESOLVED, That a suitable  copy  of  this  resolution  be
10    presented to Bruno Bertucci with our esteem.
