Amends the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Authorizes the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, subject to appropriation, to provide grants to counties for the purposes of providing incentives to attract and retain Assistant State's Attorneys within the county. Effective immediately.

| AN ACT concerning state's attorneys.

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|

| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Department of Commerce and Economic |
5 |
| Opportunity Law of the
Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is |
6 |
| amended by adding Section 605-907 as follows: |
7 |
| (20 ILCS 605/605-907 new) |
8 |
| Sec. 605-907. Grants to counties to attract and retain |
9 |
| Assistant State's Attorneys. To make grants to counties, |
10 |
| subject to appropriation, for the purposes of providing |
11 |
| incentives to attract and retain Assistant State's Attorneys |
12 |
| within the county.
|
13 |
| Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
14 |
| becoming law.
