| AN ACT concerning the courts.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 |
| Section 5. The Judicial Vacancies Act is amended by |
| 5 |
| changing Section 3 as
follows:
|
| 6 |
| (705 ILCS 40/3) (from Ch. 37, par. 72.43)
|

| Sec. 3. Severability. If any provision of this Act or the |
| 8 |
| application
thereof to any
person or circumstances is held |
| 9 |
| invalid, the invalidity shall not affect
other provisions or |
| 10 |
| applications of this Act which can be given effect
without the |
| 11 |
| invalid provision or application, and to this end the
|
| 12 |
| provisions of this Act are severable.
