| AN ACT concerning alternate fuels.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Alternate Fuels Act is amended by changing |
5 |
| Section 5 as
follows:
|

| Sec. 5. Purpose. The General Assembly declares that
it is |
8 |
| the public policy of the State to promote and encourage
the use |
9 |
| of alternate fuel in vehicles as a means to improve air
quality |
10 |
| in the State and to meet the requirements of the federal
Clean |
11 |
| Air Act Amendments of 1990 and the federal Energy Policy
Act of |
12 |
| 1992. The General Assembly further declares that the
State can |
13 |
| play a leadership role in the development of vehicles
powered |
14 |
| by alternate fuels and , as well as in the establishment of
the |
15 |
| necessary infrastructure to support this emerging technology.
