| AN ACT concerning military property.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|
4 |
| Section 5. The Military Property Act is amended by changing
|
5 |
| Section 1 as follows:
|
6 |
| (20 ILCS 1810/1) (from Ch. 129, par. 222a)
|

| Sec. 1. Conveyance and use of military property. The |
8 |
| Adjutant General,
on behalf of the State of Illinois, is
|
9 |
| authorized to accept conveyance of all right, title and |
10 |
| interest of the
United States in and to any real property |
11 |
| useful to the State of Illinois
for military purposes. Such |
12 |
| conveyance may be accepted subject to any one
or all of the |
13 |
| following conditions:
|
14 |
| (a) that title to such property will revert to the United |
15 |
| States if and
when the property is no longer used for the |
16 |
| training of the National Guard
or other military purposes, |
17 |
| unless other use by this State is authorized by
the federal |
18 |
| government;
|
19 |
| (b) that buildings or other improvements on the property at |
20 |
| the time of
conveyance will not be disposed of without approval |
21 |
| of the federal
government;
|
22 |
| (c) that the United States may, in the event of a declared |
23 |
| war, use such
property without charge for the duration of such |
24 |
| war and six months
thereafter, except that the United States |
25 |
| shall, during the period of such
use, maintain the property and |
26 |
| pay a fair rental for the use of structures
or other |
27 |
| improvements which have been added thereto without federal aid.
