| AN ACT in relation to the Secretary of State.

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Secretary of State Act is amended by |
| 5 |
| changing
Section 2 as follows:
|

| (15 ILCS 305/2) (from Ch. 124, par. 2)

| Sec. 2. Oath.
The Secretary of State shall, before entering |
| 8 |
| upon
the duties of his or her office, take and subscribe the |
| 9 |
| oath or affirmation
prescribed by Article XIII, Section 3 of |
| 10 |
| the Constitution, which shall be
filed in his or her office.
