| AN ACT concerning coal development.
|
| 2 |
| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 |
| Section 5. The Illinois Coal and Energy Development Bond |
| 5 |
| Act is amended by
changing Section 2 as follows:
|
| 6 |

| Sec. 2. Definitions. As used in this Act: ,
|
| 8 |
| "Coal" or "coal resources" include coal,
coal products or |
| 9 |
| by-products, including electricity and synthetic fuels.
|
| 10 |
| "Development of fossil fuels and coal resources" includes |
| 11 |
| research,
development, and demonstration of improved methods |
| 12 |
| of discovery,
production, transportation, sale, distribution, |
| 13 |
| conversion, utilization,
end-use and waste disposal of fossil |
| 14 |
| fuels and coal resources.
|
| 15 |
| "Development of alternative forms of energy" includes |
| 16 |
| research, development
and demonstration for the purposes of |
| 17 |
| promoting the adoption and
utilization of energy systems, |
| 18 |
| including but not limited to solar heating
and cooling, solar |
| 19 |
| passive, photovoltaic, wind, bioconversion, geothermal,
|
| 20 |
| hydroelectric, re-use of waste energy, re-use of waste |
| 21 |
| materials, and any
other energy system except that which is |
| 22 |
| generated by nuclear energy.
|
| 23 |
| "Fossil fuels" include petroleum, petroleum by-products |
| 24 |
| and natural gas.
|
