| AN ACT concerning technology.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|
4 |
| Section 5. The High Technology School-to-Work Act is |
5 |
| amended by changing Section 25 as follows:
|

| (20 ILCS 701/25)
|
7 |
| Sec. 25. Program design. Local partnerships must provide |
8 |
| students with
work experience in high technology occupations |
9 |
| combined with related classroom
instruction. Employers and |
10 |
| educators must cooperatively adopt and
or develop , or
both,
|
11 |
| skills standards, curricula, and assessment tools. Skills |
12 |
| standards must be
current with high performance workplaces and |
13 |
| technology requirements. Project
activities include, but are |
14 |
| not limited to:
|
15 |
| (1) designing in-school and related work-based |
16 |
| curricula;
|
17 |
| (2) training teachers;
|
18 |
| (3) training work site supervisors and mentors;
|
19 |
| (4) developing instructional materials;
|
20 |
| (5) coordinating activities among the partners;
|
21 |
| (6) outreach and recruitment of students;
|
22 |
| (7) developing assessment tools;
|
23 |
| (8) providing vocational counseling to student |
24 |
| participants;
|
25 |
| (9) completing project related administrative |
26 |
| activities; and
|
27 |
| (10) evaluating the project.
