| AN ACT in relation to the regulation of professions.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Medical Practice Act of 1987 is amended by |
5 |
| changing Section
10 as follows:
|

| (225 ILCS 60/10) (from Ch. 111, par. 4400-10)
|

| (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2007)
|

| Sec. 10. Duties of the Department. The Department shall:
|
9 |
| (A) Make rules for establishing reasonable minimum
|
10 |
| standards of educational requirements to be observed by
|
11 |
| medical, osteopathic and chiropractic colleges . ;
|
12 |
| (B) Effectuate the policy of the State of Illinois that the |
13 |
| quality of
medical training is an appropriate concern in the |
14 |
| recruiting, licensing,
credentialing and participation in |
15 |
| residency programs of physicians.
However, it is inappropriate |
16 |
| to discriminate against any physician because
of national |
17 |
| origin or geographic location of medical education . ;

| (C) Formulate rules and regulations required for the
|
19 |
| administration of this Act.
