    AN ACT in relation to education.

    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 
3
represented in the General Assembly:

    Section 5. The School Code is amended by changing
Section 
5
5-13 as follows:

    (105 ILCS 5/5-13)  (from Ch. 122, par. 5-13)

    Sec. 5-13. Term of office of trustees.  In townships 
8
already organized,
the school trustee shall be elected in each 
9
odd numbered year for a term
of 6 years to succeed the trustee 
10
whose term expires in that
such odd
numbered year.

    The first-elected trustees in a newly organized township 
12
shall at their
first meeting cast lots for their respective 
13
terms of office, for 2, 4 and
6 years; and thereafter 1 trustee 
14
shall be elected in each odd-numbered
year.
