| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |

| represented in the General Assembly:

| Section 5. The Election Code is amended by changing

| Sec. 1-2. Continuation of prior laws.
The provisions of |

| this Act, so far as they are the same as those
of any prior |

| statute, shall be construed as a continuation of
those

| prior provisions, and not as a new enactment.

| If in any other statute reference is made to an Act of the |
| 12 |
| General
Assembly, or a Section of such an Act, that
which is |
| 13 |
| continued in this
Election Code, the
such reference shall be |
| 14 |
| held to refer to the Act or
Section thereof so continued in |
| 15 |
| this Code.
