305 ILCS 5/5-5.5b new










    Amends the Illinois Public Aid Code.  Provides that the Department of Public Aid shall update the reimbursement rates paid to sheltered care facilities under the Medicaid program to provide for an increase in those rates sufficient to cover a sheltered care facility's expenses incurred in complying with the increase in the State minimum wage as provided in Public Act 93-581.  Effective immediately.

    AN ACT concerning sheltered care.

    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

represented in the General Assembly:

    Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended  by 
5
adding Section 5-5.5b as follows:

    (305 ILCS 5/5-5.5b  new)

    Sec. 5-5.5b. Sheltered care facilities; minimum wage. The 
8
Department of Public Aid shall update the reimbursement rates 
9
paid to sheltered care facilities under this Article to provide 
10
for an increase in those rates sufficient to cover a sheltered 
11
care facility's expenses incurred in complying with the 
12
increase in the State minimum wage as provided in Section 4 of 
13
the Minimum Wage Law as amended by Public Act 93-581.

    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
15
becoming law.
