    AN ACT to revise the law by combining multiple enactments 
2
and making technical corrections.

    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 
4
represented in the General Assembly:

    Section 1. Nature of this Act.


6
    (a) This Act may be cited as the Third 2004 General 
7
Revisory Act.


8
    (b) This Act is not intended to make any substantive change 
9
in the
law.  It reconciles conflicts that have arisen from 
10
multiple amendments
and enactments and makes technical 
11
corrections and revisions in the law.

    This Act revises and, where appropriate, renumbers certain 
13
Sections that
have been added or amended by more than one 
14
Public Act.  In certain cases in
which a repealed Act or Section 
15
has been replaced with a successor law, this
Act incorporates 
16
amendments to the repealed Act or Section into the successor

17
law.  This Act also corrects errors, revises cross-references, 
18
and deletes
obsolete text.

    (c) In this Act, the reference at the end of each amended 
20
Section indicates
the sources in the Session Laws of Illinois 
21
that were used in the preparation
of the text of that Section.  
22
The text of the Section included in this Act is
intended to 
23
reconcile the different versions of the Section found in the 
24
Public
Acts included in the list of sources, but may not 
25
include other versions of the
Section to be found in Public 
26
Acts not included in the list of sources.  The
list of sources 
27
is not a part of the text of the Section.

    (d) Public Acts 92-520 through 93-658 were considered in 
29
the preparation
of the combining revisories included in this 
30
Act.  Many of those combining
revisories contain no striking or 
31
underscoring because no additional changes
are being made in 
32
the material that is being combined.

    Section 997. No acceleration or delay.   Where this Act

makes changes in a
statute that is represented in this Act by

text that is not yet or no longer
in effect (for example, a

Section represented by multiple versions), the use
of that text

does not accelerate or delay the taking effect of (i) the 
6
changes
made by this Act or (ii) provisions derived from any 
7
other Public Act.

    Section 998. No revival or extension.   This Act does not 
9
revive or extend
any Section or Act otherwise repealed.

    Section 999. Effective date.   This Act takes effect upon 
11
becoming law.
