Amends the Children and Family Services Act. Requires the Department of Children and Family Services to create and maintain an Internet-based information source to provide interactive training to assist foster parents in developing the skills necessary to care for the emotional, mental, and physical needs of children within the foster care system. Provides that the information source must include, at least once every 8 weeks, a web-cast seminar on varying topics selected by the Department concerning foster care and the foster children.

| AN ACT concerning foster care services.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Children and Family Services Act is amended |
5 |
| by adding Section 22.2-5 as follows: |
6 |
| (20 ILCS 505/22.2-5 new) |

| Sec. 22.2-5. Internet training for foster parents. The |
8 |
| Department must create and maintain an Internet-based |
9 |
| information source to provide, without limitation, interactive |
10 |
| training to assist foster parents in developing the skills |
11 |
| necessary to care for the emotional, mental, and physical needs |
12 |
| of children within the foster care system. The information |
13 |
| source must include, at once every 8 weeks, a web-cast seminar |
14 |
| on varying topics, selected by the Department, concerning |
15 |
| foster care and foster children.
