Creates the Limitation on Distributing Tobacco Products Act. Prohibits the
sale of cigarettes in a pack of less than 20. Prohibits the distribution of
free tobacco samples. Provides that a person who violates this Act is guilty
of a petty offense.

| AN ACT concerning criminal offenses.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the |
5 |
| Limitation on
Distributing Tobacco Products Act.
|
6 |
| Section 5. Sales of cigarettes in a pack of less than 20 |
7 |
| prohibited. No
person shall sell cigarettes in a pack of less |
8 |
| than 20 cigarettes to any other
person.
|

| Section 10. Distribution of free tobacco samples |

| prohibited. No person
shall distribute or cause to be |
11 |
| distributed without charge samples of tobacco
in any of its |
12 |
| forms to any other person.
|

| Section 15. Penalties.
|

| (a) A person who violates Section 5 of this Act is guilty |

| of a petty offense
with a fine not to exceed $50 for a first |
16 |
| offense and a fine not to exceed $250
for a second or |
17 |
| subsequent offense.

| (b) A person who violates Section 10 of this Act is guilty |
19 |
| of a petty
offense.
