Amends the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity Law of the
Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Requires the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity to establish and maintain an Internet website devoted to the marketing of Illinois goods and services by linking potential purchasers with producers of goods and services who are located in the State. Allows the Department to charge a reasonable fee for inclusion on the website. Requires the Department to advertise the website. Effective on January 1, 2005.

| AN ACT concerning economic development.

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|

| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Department of Commerce and Economic |
5 |
| Opportunity Law of the
Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is |
6 |
| amended by adding Section 605-680 as follows: |

| (20 ILCS 605/605-680 new) |

| Sec. 605-680. Illinois goods and services website. |
9 |
| (a) The Department must establish and maintain an Internet |
10 |
| website devoted to the marketing of Illinois goods and services |
11 |
| by linking potential purchasers with producers of goods and |
12 |
| services who are located in the State. |
13 |
| (b) The Department may charge a reasonable fee to producers |
14 |
| for inclusion on the website. The amount of the fee collected |
15 |
| may not be greater than the amount required to operate the |
16 |
| website. |

| (c) The Department must advertise the website to encourage |
18 |
| inclusion of producers on the website and to encourage the use |
19 |
| of the website by potential purchasers.

| Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect on |
21 |
| January 1, 2005.
