| AN ACT concerning long-term care funding.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by |
5 |
| changing Section 5-5.2 as follows:
|

| (305 ILCS 5/5-5.2) (from Ch. 23, par. 5-5.2)
|

| Sec. 5-5.2. Payment.
|
8 |
| (a) All Skilled Nursing Facilities that are grouped |
9 |
| pursuant to Section
5-5.1 of this Code
Act shall receive the |
10 |
| same rate of payment for similar
services. All Intermediate |
11 |
| Care Facilities that are grouped pursuant to
Section 5-5.1 of |
12 |
| this Code
Act shall receive the same rate of payment for |
13 |
| similar
services.
|

| (b) It shall be a matter of State policy that the Illinois |
15 |
| Department
shall utilize a uniform billing cycle throughout the |
16 |
| State for the following
long-term care providers: skilled |
17 |
| nursing facilities, intermediate care
facilities, and |
18 |
| intermediate care facilities for persons with a developmental
|
19 |
| disability. The Illinois Department shall establish billing |
20 |
| cycles on a
calendar month basis for all long-term care |
21 |
| providers no later than July 1,
1992.
