093_HB3226 LRB093 07940 RCE 08131 b 1 AN ACT concerning space needs. 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 3 represented in the General Assembly: 4 Section 5. The Space Needs Act is amended by changing 5 Sections 3.06 and 3.08 as follows: 6 (25 ILCS 125/3.06) (from Ch. 63, par. 223.06) 7 Sec. 3.06. (a) To review and approve or disapprove (i) 8 all contracts for the repair, rehabilitation, construction or 9 alteration of all State buildings in the Capital Complexof10buildingsin Springfield, Illinois, including all tunnels, 11 power and heating plants and surrounding grounds, (ii) all 12 contracts for studies, planning, and other matters relating 13 to the use of space in the Capitol Complex, and (iii) all 14 leases, agreements, or other instruments that contain an 15 option, for the State or any other party, to purchase real 16 property in the Capitol Complex. 17 (b) To enter into all necessary contracts for the 18 repair, rehabilitation, construction, or alteration of any 19 portion of a State building in the Capitol Complex used or 20 occupied by the legislative branch. The Commission may 21 delegate its authority under this subsection, in whole or in 22 part, to an appropriate construction agency, as defined in 23 the Illinois Procurement Code. 24 (c) To develop and maintain a master plan for the 25 development, use, and maintenance of the Capitol Complex. 26 (Source: P.A. 92-11, eff. 6-11-01.) 27 (25 ILCS 125/3.08) (from Ch. 63, par. 223.08) 28 Sec. 3.08. To acquire land in the City of Springfield 29located within the area, bounded by Washington, Third, Cook30and Pasfield Streets,for the purpose of providing space for -2- LRB093 07940 RCE 08131 b 1 operation and expansion of the Capitol Complex or other State 2 facilities and to transfer such land or portions thereof to 3 the Department of Central Management Services. The area 4 comprising the Capitol Complex shall be determined from time 5 to time by the Commission by rules adopted under the Illinois 6 Administrative Procedure Act. 7 (Source: P.A. 82-789.) 8 Section 99.
