 1        AN ACT concerning the regulation of professions.

 2        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section 5.  The Illinois Roofing Industry  Licensing  Act
 5    is amended by changing Section 2.1 as follows:

 6        (225 ILCS 335/2.1) (from Ch. 111, par. 7502.1)
 7        (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2006)
 8        Sec.   2.1.  Powers   and   duties  of  Department.   The
 9    Department may  exercise  the  following  powers  and  duties
10    subject to the provisions of this Act:
11        (a)  To  prescribe  forms of application for certificates
12    of registration.
13        (b)  To pass upon the qualifications  of  applicants  for
14    certificates   of  registration  and  issue  certificates  of
15    registration to those found to be fit and qualified.
16        (c)  To  conduct  hearings  on  proceedings  to   revoke,
17    suspend  or  otherwise  discipline  or  to refuse to issue or
18    renew certificates of registration.
19        (d)  To formulate rules and regulations when required for
20    the administration and enforcement of this Act.
