1 | AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1082

2 | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 1082 by replacing | ||||||
3 | everything after the enacting clause with the following:

4 | "Section 5. The Medical Patient Rights Act is amended by | ||||||
5 | adding Section 7 as follows: | ||||||
6 | (410 ILCS 50/7 new) | ||||||
7 | Sec. 7. Patient examination. Any physician, medical | ||||||
8 | student, resident, advanced practice nurse, registered nurse, | ||||||
9 | or physician assistant who provides treatment or care to a | ||||||
10 | patient shall inform the patient of his or her profession upon | ||||||
11 | providing the treatment or care, which includes but is not | ||||||
12 | limited to any physical examination, such as a pelvic | ||||||
13 | examination. In the case of an unconscious patient, any care or | ||||||
14 | treatment must be related to the patient's illness, condition, | ||||||
15 | or disease.

16 | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1, | ||||||
17 | 2004.".
