2 | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 0679 by replacing | ||||||
3 | everything after the enacting clause with the following:

4 | "Section 5. The Children's Health Insurance Program Act is | ||||||
5 | amended by changing Section 22 as follows:
| ||||||
6 | (215 ILCS 106/22)
| ||||||
7 | Sec. 22. Enrollment in program ; funding for community | ||||||
8 | organizations . | ||||||
9 | (a) The Department shall develop procedures
to allow | ||||||
10 | community providers, schools, youth service agencies, | ||||||
11 | employers,
labor unions, local chambers of commerce, and | ||||||
12 | religious organizations to
assist in enrolling children in the | ||||||
13 | Program. | ||||||
14 | (b) Subject to specific appropriation, the Department | ||||||
15 | shall provide funding to community organizations for outreach | ||||||
16 | activities, which could include assistance in completing the | ||||||
17 | application process and forwarding the application to the State | ||||||
18 | for processing. Community organizations will be required to | ||||||
19 | provide specific services and will be held accountable for | ||||||
20 | providing those services. If a community organization does not | ||||||
21 | provide those services, the organization will be required to | ||||||
22 | return funds to the Department.
