 1        AN ACT concerning environmental safety.

 2        Be it enacted by the People of  the  State  of  Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section  5.  The Alternate Fuels Act is amended by adding
 5    Section 22 as follows:

 6        (415 ILCS 120/22 new)
 7        Sec. 22.  Flexible fuel vehicle database.  The  Secretary
 8    of  State  shall  compile  a  database  of  the flexible fuel
 9    vehicles in the State by zip code area.  The  database  shall
10    be   created   based   upon  the  make,  model,  and  vehicle
11    identification number of registered vehicles.   The  database
12    shall  include  only  the  number of vehicles by zip code and
13    shall be completed and made available  to the public in  both
14    print  and  electronic  format  by  January 1, 2004.  For the
15    purposes of this Section, "flexible  fuel  vehicle"  means  a
16    vehicle that is capable of running  on E85 blend fuel.

17        Section  99.  Effective date.  This Act takes effect upon
18    becoming law.
