SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Suzanne "Sue" Oehrlein, who passed
4away on March 21, 2026; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Sue Oehrlein, the daughter of Wilfred and
6Maralynn Young, was born in Chicago on May 30, 1941; she
7married Burke Oehrlein; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Sue Oehrlein worked as a certified public
9accountant with her husband, Burke, in their accounting
10business for 40 years and was respected for her dedication and
11professionalism; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Sue Oehrlein was a Girl Scout volunteer for 42
13years, proudly serving as a leader for each of her three
14daughters; she served on the School District 62 Foundation
15board for 18 years and was an active member of P.E.O. Chapter
16HL; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Sue Oehrlein's children and grandchildren were
18the greatest joy of her life; she lived by the philosophy that
19one should make new friends but keep the old, for one is silver
20and the other gold; and

1    WHEREAS, Sue Oehrlein was preceded in death by her
2brothers, Thomas and Stephen Young; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Sue Oehrlein is survived by her husband of 44
4years, Burke; her siblings, Richard and James; her children,
5Laureen (David) McParlane, Victoria Jones, Ashley (Josh)
6Lindstrom, and Paul (Sarah) Oehrlein; and thirteen
7grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Suzanne "Sue" Oehrlein and extend our sincere condolences to
11her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Sue Oehrlein as an expression of our
15deepest sympathy.
