| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of John M. Eckert of Springfield, who |
| 4 | | passed away on February 15, 2026; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, John Eckert, the son of the late Albert and Nancy |
| 6 | | Eckert, was born on March 21, 1959; and |
| 7 | | WHEREAS, John Eckert worked for the Department on Aging |
| 8 | | for over 20 years, strengthening supportive services for older |
| 9 | | Illinoisans and people with disabilities and influencing laws |
| 10 | | to improve their lives, and he finished his career as the |
| 11 | | deputy division manager; and |
| 12 | | WHEREAS, John Eckert was a devoted son, brother, and uncle |
| 13 | | who inspired others to live fully and love generously; he |
| 14 | | embodied perseverance and a deep commitment to finding purpose |
| 15 | | beyond his life's disadvantages; and |
| 16 | | WHEREAS, John Eckert is survived by his siblings, Jim |
| 17 | | (Sharon), Grace, Carol, Susan (Jeff), and Martha; his nephew |
| 18 | | and nieces, James, Grace, Pepper, and Kate; and his |
| 19 | | great-nieces, Reina, Marina, and Iona; therefore, be it |
| 20 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL |
