SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Phyllis J. Mocabee of Sullivan, who
4passed away on February 11, 2026; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Phyllis Mocabee, the daughter of Charles F. and
6Celia O. Call Mocabee, was born in Lovington on March 19, 1932;
7and
 
8    WHEREAS, Phyllis Mocabee worked at the Illinois Masonic
9Home in Sullivan for six months before working as a machine
10operator for Borg-Warner in Decatur for 36 years; she retired
11as a CRC 1 from the Department of Corrections facility in
12Decatur after ten years of service; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Phyllis Mocabee was a member of the Lovington
14Christian Church and a long-standing member of the Moultrie
15County Republican Women's Club; she was also an avid St. Louis
16Cardinals fan; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Phyllis Mocabee was preceded in death by her
18parents and two sisters; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Phyllis Mocabee is survived by her son, Mike
20McDaniel; her grandson, Brock McDaniel; and her special

1friend, Pauline Rowles; therefore, be it
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
4Phyllis J. Mocabee and extend our sincere condolences to her
5family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
6further
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8presented to the family of Phyllis Mocabee as an expression of
9our deepest sympathy.
