| 6 | | WHEREAS, Union Pacific Railroad, founded by an act of |
| 7 | | Congress and signed into law by President Abraham Lincoln as |
| 8 | | part of the nation's first transcontinental railroad in 1862, |
| 9 | | has continuously operated for more than 160 years with a focus |
| 10 | | on safety, service, and operational excellence; and |
| 11 | | WHEREAS, The Safety Bell Award is Union Pacific Railroad's |
| 12 | | highest safety honor and is presented annually to the service |
| 13 | | unit achieving the best overall safety record; and |
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Under the leadership of General Manager Cerwin |
| 15 | | Fleming, the Chicago Service Unit delivered a record-setting |
| 16 | | safety performance with more than 365 consecutive injury-free |
| 17 | | days and the lowest derailment rate of the company's 13 |
| 18 | | service units during calendar year 2025; and |
