HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate Rabbi Andrea London on
4the occasion of her retirement from Beth Emet The Free
5Synagogue; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Rabbi London has served with distinction as rabbi
7of Beth Emet The Free Synagogue in Evanston for 25 years,
8guiding the congregation with intellectual rigor, spiritual
9depth, and an unwavering commitment to justice; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Rabbi London has been a prominent voice in
11Illinois for human rights, interfaith partnership, and civic
12engagement, inspiring residents across the state to pursue
13equity, compassion, and meaningful action in the public
14sphere; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Rabbi London, through her teaching, pastoral
16care, and community leadership, has supported individuals and
17families at life's most significant moments, offering wisdom,
18comfort, and a steadfast presence that has enriched countless
19lives; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Under Rabbi London's leadership, Beth Emet The
21Free Synagogue has flourished as a center of Jewish learning,

1social responsibility, and community connection, embodying
2values that reflect the highest ideals of the State of
3Illinois; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Rabbi London's retirement marks the culmination
5of a remarkable chapter of service and the beginning of a new
6season filled with continued learning, reflection, and
7contribution to the broader civic and moral landscape of our
8state; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
10HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
11we congratulate Rabbi Andrea London on the occasion of her
12retirement from Beth Emet The Free Synagogue, and we wish her
13the best in all her future endeavours; and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to Rabbi London as a symbol of our respect and
16esteem.
