| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate Cyndi Oberle-Dahm on the |
| 4 | | occasion of her retirement as a history teacher in Belleville |
| 5 | | Township District 201; and |
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Cyndi Oberle-Dahm has taught Advanced Placement |
| 7 | | History for 34 years and served as chair of the Social Studies |
| 8 | | Department for the past 15 years; she has educated, coached, |
| 9 | | and mentored more than 4,000 students during her tenure; and |
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Cyndi Oberle-Dahm earned a Bachelor of Arts in |
| 11 | | History from Southern Illinois University Carbondale and a |
| 12 | | Master of Science in History from Southern Illinois University |
| 13 | | Edwardsville; and |
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Cyndi Oberle-Dahm has coached Odyssey of the |
| 15 | | Mind, Scholar Bowl, and varsity cheerleading for football and |
| 16 | | basketball, and she has been a club sponsor for Model UN and |
| 17 | | the Rare Disease Club; she coordinated the Veterans Day |
| 18 | | Assembly for more than 20 years and has hosted several |
| 19 | | naturalization ceremonies at Belleville West High School; and |
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Cyndi Oberle-Dahm has served as a World Link |
| 21 | | Foreign Exchange coordinator and student sponsor; she |

| 1 | | coordinated the study abroad program for over a decade of |
| 2 | | student trips to Europe and received Fulbright Educational |
| 3 | | Fellowships to Japan, China, and Russia; and |
| 4 | | WHEREAS, As president of the Southwest Area Council |
| 5 | | (SWAC), an affiliate of the Illinois Federation of Teachers, |
| 6 | | Cyndi Oberle-Dahm represented over 6,000 members; she has |
| 7 | | served the Belleville Federation of Teachers Local 434 as |
| 8 | | president for multiple terms and as building representative, |
| 9 | | executive council member, and negotiating team member; after |
| 10 | | holding the position of secretary/treasurer with the Illinois |
| 11 | | Federation of Teachers, she assumed her current role of vice |
| 12 | | president; and |
| 13 | | WHEREAS, In addition to her professional accomplishments, |
| 14 | | Cyndi Oberle-Dahm is a wife to Norm and a mother to their four |
| 15 | | children, Conrad, Eliot, Rebecca, and Emily; and |
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Cyndi Oberle-Dahm has been a source of |
| 17 | | inspiration for teachers and students over the course of her |
| 18 | | celebrated career; as an advocate for students, colleagues, |
| 19 | | and the State educational system, she is what teachers strive |
| 20 | | to be; therefore, be it |
| 21 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
| 22 | | HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
