| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate the East St. Louis Senior |
| 4 | | High School boys basketball team, the Flyers, on winning the |
| 5 | | 2026 Illinois High School Association Class 3A State |
| 6 | | Championship; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, The Flyers compiled a season record of 33 wins |
| 8 | | and 4 losses on their way to the title, the second state |
| 9 | | championship in program history, with both titles (2019 and |
| 10 | | 2026) achieved under the leadership of Head Coach Mark |
| 11 | | Chambers; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, The Flyers' success was recognized as #1 in the |
| 13 | | State of Illinois and #47 nationally; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, The Flyers won the Proviso West Holiday |
| 15 | | Tournament and the Illinois Southwestern Conference during |
| 16 | | their run; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, The Flyers' head coach, Mark Chambers, was named |
| 18 | | Illinois Basketball Coaches Association State Coach of the |
| 19 | | Year for the second time in his career; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, The Flyers are led and supported by Head Coach |

| 12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
| 13 | | HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 14 | | we congratulate the East St. Louis Senior High School boys |
| 15 | | basketball team, the Flyers, on winning the 2026 Illinois High |
| 16 | | School Association Class 3A State Championship, and we wish |
| 17 | | them many more successful seasons; and be it further
