HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Faith
4Roselle Julian of Oak Park, who passed away on March 26, 2026;
5and
 
6    WHEREAS, Faith Julian was born in Chicago to Dr. Percy
7Lavon Julian and Dr. Anna Johnson Julian on March 18, 1944; her
8family moved to Oak Park when she was a young girl, and she
9attended Oak Park and River Forest High School; she graduated
10from Roosevelt University in 1973 with a bachelor's degree in
11psychology; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Faith Julian worked for the Chicago court
13services as a social worker and then taught English as a second
14language; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Faith Julian volunteered on numerous occasions,
16including reading to those who were blind; she was always one
17to remember others with a phone call, a card, a gift, or
18flowers; she served as the caretaker for her father and her
19mother when they needed her, and she always remained a
20contributor to the Oak Park community and a stalwart steward
21of her family's legacy; and

1    WHEREAS, Faith Julian was preceded in death by her
2parents; her brother, Percy Julian Jr.; and her cousin, Leon
3Rhoderic Ellis; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Faith Julian is survived by her niece, Dr.
5Katherine Julian; several cousins; and numerous friends,
6including her best friend, Anthony Thomas; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
8HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
9we mourn the passing of Faith Roselle Julian and extend our
10sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew
11and loved her; and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Faith Julian as a symbol of our
14deepest sympathy.
