1    AN ACT concerning regulation.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Department of Professional Regulation Law
5of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is amended by
6adding Section 2105-379 as follows:
 
7    (20 ILCS 2105/2105-379 new)
8    Sec. 2105-379. Continuing education; prohibited services.
9    (a) As used in this Section, "prohibited services,
10treatments, practices, or procedures" means the services,
11treatments, practices, or procedures that are expressly
12prohibited by law or by rule in this State at the time a
13continuing education activity is completed.
14    (b) A licensee shall not receive continuing education
15credit toward the renewal of a professional license for any
16continuing education course, program, seminar, instruction,
17webinar, or other educational activity that promotes,
18instructs, or provides guidance on the performance of
19prohibited services, treatments, practices, or procedures.
20    (c) Approval by the Department of a continuing education
21provider or continuing education course does not supersede the
22provisions of this Section.
23    (d) Nothing in this Section shall be construed to require

1the Department to proactively review, pre-approve, evaluate,
2monitor, or otherwise assess continuing education content
3restrictions under this Section.
 
4    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect on
5January 1, 2027.
