SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Nicole DeNeane "Niky" Wardlaw, who
4passed away on August 9, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Niky Wardlaw was born to William Wardlaw Sr. and
6Evelyn Wardlaw in Chicago on August 31, 1969; she attended
7Daniel Webster Elementary School in Chicago; she and her
8family moved to Indiana, where she attended Franklin and
9Bailey Middle Schools; she attended Lew Wallace High School in
10Indiana before she and her family relocated to Chicago, where
11she graduated from Austin Community Academy; she received her
12bachelor's degree from Robert Morris College; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Niky Wardlaw was passionate about community
14outreach and enjoyed being involved within the community; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Niky Wardlaw enjoyed spending time with her
16family and friends, playing cards, scrolling on TikTok and
17making TikTok videos with her grandsons, and crafting,
18especially decorating glassware; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Niky Wardlaw was a very loving, caring,
20supportive, creative, and outgoing person who was quick to
21help others; she was the life of any party and always brought a

1smile to everyone's face; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Niky Wardlaw was preceded in death by her father;
3her siblings, Sandra Jackson and Michael Adams; her niece,
4Delicia Wardlaw; and her nephew, Lezerick Williams; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Niky is survived by her mother; her siblings,
6Curtis (Lucy) Jackson, Ricardo Wardlaw, Dominic Wardlaw,
7William (Anita) Wardlaw Jr., Athena Wardlaw, Farrah (Roger)
8Williams, and Keon Wardlaw; her daughter, Ashley Howliet; her
9sons, Darcus Wardlaw, Zachary Howliet, and Ahmad Logan; four
10granddaughters; nine grandsons; two bonus grandsons; her
11special friends, Eric Allen, LaVita, LaShon, Cynthia Davis,
12Sarah, and BeeBee; her Logan, APAC, and BMU families; and many
13aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends;
14therefore, be it
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
16ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
17Nicole DeNeane "Niky" Wardlaw and extend our sincere
18condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
19her; and be it further
 
20    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21presented to the family of Niky Wardlaw as an expression of our
22deepest sympathy.
