SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Lavern Arthur "Vern" Moore of
4Cambridge, who passed away on October 4, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Vern Moore, the son of Leo L. and Blanche M.
6Buckley Moore, was born in Cambridge Township on June 28,
71937; he was educated in Cambridge schools and graduated from
8Cambridge High School in 1955; he later attended Black Hawk
9College; he served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve from 1955
10to 1957 and with the U.S. Army Pacific at its headquarters in
11Hawaii from 1957 to 1959; he married Janis Marie Humphrey in
12Orion on June 1, 1958; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Vern Moore worked as a laboratory manager for
14Regal/National By-Products in Illinois and Iowa, retiring
15after 38 years of service; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Vern Moore was a member of the Cambridge Lutheran
17Church; he was a past master and life member of Cambridge Lodge
18No. 49, A.F. and A.M.; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Vern Moore enjoyed antiquing, gardening, and
20hunting; and

1    WHEREAS, Vern Moore was preceded in death by his parents;
2his wife; and his infant granddaughter, Megan Anne Allison;
3and
 
4    WHEREAS, Vern Moore is survived by his daughters, Lisa
5(Ken) Allison and Susan (Kenny) Beam; three grandchildren;
6eight great-grandchildren; and his brother, Howard Moore;
7therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Lavern Arthur "Vern" Moore and extend our sincere condolences
11to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
12it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Vern Moore as an expression of our
15deepest sympathy.
