2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
3 | | to learn of the death of Tanilo H. Sandoval of East Moline, who |
4 | | passed away on August 19, 2024; and |
5 | | WHEREAS, Tanilo Sandoval, the son of Eduvigues and |
6 | | Angelina Hernandez Sandoval, was born in Box Car #3 in the |
7 | | Silvis Yards, Silvis on April 2, 1926; he served in the U.S. |
8 | | Army during World War II; he married Connie Segura at the "old" |
9 | | Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Silvis on June 26, 1948; and |
10 | | WHEREAS, Tanilo Sandoval retired from John Deere Harvester |
11 | | East Moline in 1983 after 38 years of service; and |
12 | | WHEREAS, Tanilo Sandoval was an unofficial ambassador of |
13 | | Hero Street, the short street renamed for the eight young men |
14 | | who gave the ultimate sacrifice during World War II and the |
15 | | Korean Conflict; he had been raised on Hero Street and loved |
16 | | his family and the Hero Street family; he loved traveling; he |
17 | | visited many countries and rode across the U.S. by Greyhound |
18 | | bus connecting with relatives, friends, and classmates; |
19 | | playing in his younger years, he enjoyed sports, including |
20 | | watching professional teams, cheering for his United Township |
21 | | Panthers, and attending the sporting events of his children |
22 | | and grandchildren; and |

1 | | WHEREAS, Tanilo Sandoval was preceded in death by his |
2 | | parents; his wife; his infant son, Kevin; and his siblings, |
3 | | Joseph Sandoval, Frank Sandoval, Santiago Sandoval, Ed |
4 | | (Theresa) Sandoval, Jennie (Charlie) Garcia, Georgia (Ray) |
5 | | Herrera, Mercedes Munos, Esperanza Vasquez, Emidio (Eloise) |
6 | | Sandoval, and Norbert Sandoval; and |
7 | | WHEREAS, Tanilo Sandoval is survived by his children, |
8 | | Louis Sandoval, Stephen (Virginia) Sandoval, David Sandoval, |
9 | | Susan Sandoval, and Alan (Rhonda) Sandoval; his grandchildren, |
10 | | Craig (Emily) Sandoval, Brian Sandoval, Nicholas Sandoval, |
11 | | Jonathan (Nichole) Sandoval, and Matthew Sandoval; his |
12 | | great-grandson, Augie Tanilo Sandoval; three |
13 | | step-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; and many |
14 | | nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; therefore, |

16 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL |
17 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
18 | | Tanilo H. Sandoval and extend our sincere condolences to his |
19 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
20 | | further |
