2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
3 | | to learn of the death of James "Jim" Mosby of Elgin, who passed |
4 | | away on August 7, 2024; and |
5 | | WHEREAS, Jim Mosby was born to Preston and Amelia (Kleker) |
6 | | Mosby in Chicago on February 20, 1938; he served in the U.S. |
7 | | Coast Guard from 1956 to 1958 before being honorably |
8 | | discharged; and |
9 | | WHEREAS, Jim Mosby worked as an electrical engineer until |
10 | | his retirement; and |
11 | | WHEREAS, Jim Mosby volunteered at Amvets Lee Barrett |
12 | | Memorial Post 202, American Legion Post 57, and the Nature's |
13 | | Villa Campground; and |
14 | | WHEREAS, Jim Mosby was quite the jokester; he loved |
15 | | golfing, including riding on his golf cart, and cheering for |
16 | | his favorite team, the Chicago Cubs; he often enjoyed simply |
17 | | sitting in his rocking chair on the porch; and |
18 | | WHEREAS, Jim Mosby was preceded in death by his parents; |
19 | | his brother, John "Jack" Preston Mosby; and his stepdaughter, |
20 | | Wendy Jones Reinberger; and |
