2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
3 | | to learn of the death of Sienna Rae Bostedo of Mode, who passed |
4 | | away on July 11, 2024; and |
5 | | WHEREAS, Sienna Bostedo was born to Charlie and Stacie |
6 | | (Friese) Bostedo in Aurora on November 16, 2009; she graduated |
7 | | from Trinity Lutheran School in Stewardson in 2024, and she |
8 | | was to be a freshman at Stewardson-Strasburg High School this |
9 | | fall; and |
10 | | WHEREAS, Sienna Bostedo was involved in many sports and |
11 | | especially enjoyed playing volleyball, participating at |
12 | | Trinity Lutheran School from third through eighth grade and |
13 | | preparing for the start of her high school career at |
14 | | Stewardson-Strasburg High School; she had also been a member |
15 | | of the Rapid Fire volleyball club since fifth grade; and |
16 | | WHEREAS, Sienna Bostedo was an accomplished runner, |
17 | | participating in track at Stewardson-Strasburg Junior High |
18 | | School and competing at the state level all three years, and in |
19 | | cross country at Trinity Lutheran School, which led her to |
20 | | competing at the National Lutheran Cross Country Championships |
21 | | several times; and |

1 | | WHEREAS, Sienna Bostedo also played basketball and |
2 | | softball, participating in the former at Trinity Lutheran |
3 | | School from third grade to sixth grade and at |
4 | | Stewardson-Strasburg Junior High School through eighth grade, |
5 | | and she participated in the latter at Stewardson-Strasburg |
6 | | Junior High School from sixth through eighth grade; and |
7 | | WHEREAS, Sienna Bostedo was baptized at Trinity Lutheran |
8 | | Church in Stewardson on May 12, 2021, and she was confirmed |
9 | | into her faith at that same church on May 5, 2024; and |
10 | | WHEREAS, Sienna Bostedo enjoyed reading books poolside, |
11 | | pond fishing, and spending time with her friends; above all |
12 | | else, she loved her family; and |
13 | | WHEREAS, Sienna Bostedo will be remembered as a smart, |
14 | | bubbly, and hardworking girl who possessed a smile that could |
15 | | light up a room and the heart of a natural born leader; and |
16 | | WHEREAS, Sienna Bostedo was preceded in death by her |
17 | | great-grandparents, Jack and Helen Yakey, Clinton Friese, |
18 | | Evelyn Blair, Charles and Evelyn Bostedo, and James and |
19 | | Loretta Crowe; and |
20 | | WHEREAS, Sienna Bostedo is survived by her parents; her |
21 | | little sister, Gianna; her paternal grandparents, Dick and |

1 | | Maggie Bostedo; her maternal grandparents, Ed and Jill Friese; |
2 | | her uncles and aunts, Jeremy and Kelly (Friese) Kinkelaar and |
3 | | John and Angela Bostedo; and her cousins, Colin Kinkelaar, |
4 | | Ella Kinkelaar, Dominic Bostedo, and Laney Bostedo; therefore, |
5 | | be it |
6 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL |
7 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
8 | | Sienna Rae Bostedo and extend our sincere condolences to her |
9 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it |
10 | | further |
11 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
12 | | presented to the family of Sienna Bostedo as an expression of |
13 | | our deepest sympathy. |
