2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to | ||||||
3 | congratulate Robert M. "Bob" Tanner on the occasion of his | ||||||
4 | retirement as president and CEO of Greater Family Health; and | ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, From preventive care to chronic disease | ||||||
6 | management, Greater Family Health provides coordinated, | ||||||
7 | patient-centered care as a Federally Qualified Health Center | ||||||
8 | (FQHC); and | ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Robert Tanner has served as president and CEO of | ||||||
10 | Greater Family Health since 2005; under his leadership, the | ||||||
11 | organization has expanded to 14 sites in five counties and | ||||||
12 | over 400 employees and has received accreditation in three | ||||||
13 | different categories of The Joint Commission, with annual | ||||||
14 | revenues exceeding $48 million; and | ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Robert Tanner has been instrumental in Greater | ||||||
16 | Family Health achieving outstanding outcomes, including cost | ||||||
17 | per patient and visit, annual patient volume growth, and | ||||||
18 | patient satisfaction, while verifying and documenting that the | ||||||
19 | organization maintained comprehensive compliance with the | ||||||
20 | regulations of two bureaus of the Health Resources and | ||||||
21 | Services Administration (HRSA), numerous state, local, and | ||||||
22 | foundation grants, and board directives; he has also been |

1 | personally responsible for the recruitment of over 110 active | ||||||
2 | practitioners in six specialties, with hundreds more recruited | ||||||
3 | and retained for a minimum of three years; and | ||||||
4 | WHEREAS, Prior to serving Greater Family Health, Robert | ||||||
5 | Tanner was division manager of Aunt Martha's Youth Services in | ||||||
6 | Chicago Heights from 1992 to 2005; before that, he worked for | ||||||
7 | the Maryville Academy - City of Youth in Des Plaines from 1981 | ||||||
8 | to 1992, where he held a number of roles, including family | ||||||
9 | educator, assistant program manager, program manager, and | ||||||
10 | program consultant; and | ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Robert Tanner earned his Bachelor of Science in | ||||||
12 | Social Work from Loyola University in 1981, his Master of | ||||||
13 | Social Work from the University of Illinois Chicago in 1991, | ||||||
14 | and his Master of Business Administration from Lake Forest | ||||||
15 | Graduate School of Management in 2011; and | ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Robert Tanner has further served his community as | ||||||
17 | a board member of CQuest America, the Illinois Primary | ||||||
18 | Healthcare Association, and the Aurora Kiwanis Club; he has | ||||||
19 | also given his time to the Boy Scouts of America as an Eagle | ||||||
20 | Scout coordinator; and | ||||||
21 | WHEREAS, Robert Tanner has previously been recognized for | ||||||
22 | his leadership, receiving the George M. O'Neill Leadership |

1 | Award from the Illinois Primary Health Care Association in | ||||||
2 | 2023; therefore, be it | ||||||
3 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | ||||||
4 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Robert | ||||||
5 | M. "Bob" Tanner on his retirement as president and CEO of | ||||||
6 | Greater Family Health, and we wish him success in his future | ||||||
7 | endeavors; and be it further | ||||||
8 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
9 | presented to Robert Tanner as an expression of our esteem and | ||||||
10 | respect. |
