2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
3 | | to learn of the death of Jerry M. Wilson of Havana, who passed |
4 | | away on February 25, 2024; and |
5 | | WHEREAS, Jerry Wilson was born to Donald and Madeline |
6 | | Wilson on October 12, 1947; he attended school in Havana; he |
7 | | served in the U.S. Navy from 1964 to 1968; and |
8 | | WHEREAS, Jerry Wilson worked for Westinghouse in Lester, |
9 | | Pennsylvania, Scott Paper in Chester, Pennsylvania, and Boeing |
10 | | in Essington, Pennsylvania before moving back to Illinois; he |
11 | | then worked for Walker Forge in Havana, Caterpillar in East |
12 | | Peoria and Mossville, Star Transport in Morton, and Farm and |
13 | | Home in Havana; and |
14 | | WHEREAS, Jerry Wilson served as chief driver for the |
15 | | Essington Volunteer Fire Department in Pennsylvania and |
16 | | captain of the Havana Volunteer Fire Department; he was a |
17 | | member of the Havana VFW Post #6408 Auxiliary and the Havana |
18 | | Boat Club; and |
19 | | WHEREAS, Jerry Wilson was preceded in death by his |
20 | | parents; and |

2 | | (Smith) Wilson; his children, Jeri (Jason) Shilling and |
3 | | Heather (Stevan) Hofreiter; his grandchildren, Dominique |
4 | | Shilling, Samuel Shilling, Madison Hofreiter, and Claire |
5 | | Hofreiter; his stepchildren, Michelle (Chuck) Calhoun and |
6 | | David West; his step-grandchildren, Laney Kelomel, Nolan |
7 | | Kelomel, and Drake Calhoun; his great-grandson, Jaxen Jenson; |
8 | | his great-granddaughters, Braelynn Lindsey and Lillian |
9 | | Lindsey; and his siblings, Mark (Mary) Hosford, Gene (Donna) |
10 | | Hosford, Guy Hosford, Chris (Lee) Eilers, Kevin (Donna) Smith, |
11 | | Penney (Darren) Mathias, Sandy McCari, and Randy Smith; |

13 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL |
14 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
15 | | Jerry M. Wilson and extend our sincere condolences to his |
16 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
