2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
3 | | to learn of the death of Kay Elaine Peet of Pleasant Plains, |
4 | | who passed away on March 29, 2024; and |
5 | | WHEREAS, Kay Peet was born in Springfield to David I. and |
6 | | Rachel B. (Thacker) Marker on July 8, 1940; she graduated from |
7 | | Lanphier High School in 1958; she had many fond memories of her |
8 | | time there and stayed in touch with many of her classmates |
9 | | throughout the years; she married Maynard "Bud" Bandy in 1958; |
10 | | she later married John "Bob" Peet in 1976; and |
11 | | WHEREAS, Kay Peet worked as a housewife and mother, an |
12 | | office assistant to Congressman Paul Findley, an executive |
13 | | secretary for the Illinois Jaycees and the Illinois |
14 | | Association of Realtors, an office manager for ESM |
15 | | Development, and a manager of Homestead Place and Homestead at |
16 | | Montvale; she retired in 2016, after service as a legislative |
17 | | assistant working in leadership for the Illinois House of |
18 | | Representatives; while working for the House at one time, she |
19 | | cooked once a week so the representatives could have a |
20 | | home-cooked meal while away; and |
21 | | WHEREAS, Kay Peet was willing to help everyone she knew; |
22 | | she had great fun getting together with her Lanphier |

1 | | classmates every year at their "Birthday Bash"; she was an |
2 | | avid Cubs fan and enjoyed reading, working with her flowers, |
3 | | watching TV, doing the daily crossword puzzles/Sudoku, and |
4 | | watching her family race and bowl; she was well known for her |
5 | | homemade chicken and noodles and deviled eggs; she was devoted |
6 | | to her family and her cats and loved all animals; and |
7 | | WHEREAS, Kay Peet was preceded in death by her parents; |
8 | | her former husbands; and her son, Troy Charles Bandy; and |
9 | | WHEREAS, Kay Peet is survived by her daughter, Kimberly K. |
10 | | (Larry) Hall; her son, Todd L. (Shelly) Bandy; her |
11 | | grandchildren, Sean Bandy, Ryan (Ashley) Hall, Rachel (Matt) |
12 | | Burdick, Randal (Emily) Hall, Riley Hall, Jonathan (Heather) |
13 | | Bandy, Sarah (Caileb) Beaird, and Nicholas Bandy; 14 |
14 | | great-grandchildren and one on the way; and several |
15 | | great-great-grandchildren; therefore, be it |
16 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL |
17 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
18 | | Kay Elaine Peet and extend our sincere condolences to her |
19 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it |
20 | | further |
21 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
22 | | presented to the family of Kay Peet as an expression of our |
