SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Marcia D. "Marcy" Harbour of
4Springfield, who passed away on March 5, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Marcy Harbour was born to Kenneth E. and Velma
6(Falconer) Taft in Springfield on November 13, 1955; she
7graduated from Edinburg High School in 1973 and attended
8Lincoln Land Community College; she married Richard Harbour on
9June 16, 2000; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Marcy Harbour began her career as a clerk with
11the Illinois Department of Corrections, retiring as an
12executive II disability claims adjuster after 32 years of
13service; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Marcy Harbour was a member and past vice
15president of The Lady of Elks Springfield Lodge #158 and vice
16president of the Springfield Fiber Arts Guild; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Marcy Harbour had many hobbies; she enjoyed
18knitting and belonged to two knitting groups; she and her
19husband, Richard, loved traveling, including taking annual
20trips to St. Charles, Missouri and Hannibal, Missouri and
21extended stays in Treasure Island, Florida and Orange Beach,

1Alabama; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Marcy Harbour was preceded in death by her
3parents and her brother, Mark Taft; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Marcy Harbour is survived by her husband; her
5daughter, Erica (Eric) Weaver; her son, Christopher (Lacey)
6Campbell; her stepson, Richard Harbour Jr.; her grandchildren,
7Tristan Weaver, Nicole Weaver, Addison Campbell, and Payton
8Campbell; her brother, Mike (Tracy) Taft; his nieces, Tara
9Taft and Abby Taft; and many cousins; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Marcia D. "Marcy" Harbour and extend our sincere condolences
13to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be
14it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Marcy Harbour as an expression of
17our deepest sympathy.
