2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
3 | | to learn of the death of Dominic Andrew "Dom" Saccomano, who |
4 | | passed away on January 26, 2024; and |
5 | | WHEREAS, Dom Saccomano was born to Andrew and Juanita |
6 | | (Mudd) Saccomano in Springfield on January 27, 1960; and |
7 | | WHEREAS, Dom Saccomano was a dedicated employee of City |
8 | | Water, Light & Power for over 35 years, retiring as meter |
9 | | reader foreman; he also spent many evenings and weekends |
10 | | building homes in Twin Lakes and Grants Ridge, and he built his |
11 | | own home in Pleasant Plains; and |
12 | | WHEREAS, Dom Saccomano was a member of the Bowling Hall of |
13 | | Fame; he started bowling at King Pin Lanes in Springfield at |
14 | | the age of nine and bowled 15 perfect games, scoring 300, and |
15 | | had two 800 series games; and |
16 | | WHEREAS, Dom Saccomano was an avid fan of the Chicago |
17 | | Bears and NASCAR, and he enjoyed attending his annual |
18 | | Talladega NASCAR racing trip with his friends; he also loved |
19 | | vacationing in the Caribbean Islands and snowmobiling in the |
20 | | Northwoods with his wife; and |

1 | | WHEREAS, Dom Saccomano was a hard worker, a loving |
2 | | husband, a supportive father, and an involved grandfather; he |
3 | | always lent a helping hand to friends and family alike; and |
4 | | WHEREAS, Dom Saccomano was preceded in death by his |
5 | | parents; his brother, George Bechtel; and his stepmother, |
6 | | Irene Saccomano; and |
7 | | WHEREAS, Dom Saccomano is survived by his wife of 31 |
8 | | years, Jill (Norman) Saccomano; his children, Garren |
9 | | (Jennifer) Saccomano, Shawna (Matt) Adams, and Andrea |
10 | | (Patrick) Donahue; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; |
11 | | his siblings, Carmella (Mike) Keams, Jerry Bechtel, and Cloyd |
12 | | Bechtel; his sister-in-law, Jody (Greg) Smith; and several |
13 | | nieces and nephews; therefore, be it |
14 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL |
15 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
16 | | Dominic Andrew "Dom" Saccomano and extend our sincere |
17 | | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved |
18 | | him; and be it further |
19 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
20 | | presented to the family of Dom Saccomano as an expression of |
21 | | our deepest sympathy. |
