2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of former Kendall County State's | ||||||
4 | Attorney and Illinois GOP Chairman Dallas Ingemunson, who | ||||||
5 | passed away on November 4, 2023; and | ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Dallas Ingemunson was a public servant, mentor, | ||||||
7 | advocate, husband, father, grandfather, coach, and friend; and | ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Dallas Ingemunson was born to Clare and Dorothy | ||||||
9 | Ingemunson in Sandwich on May 23, 1938; and | ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Dallas Ingemunson's family also included his | ||||||
11 | brother, Donald, and his sisters, Peg and Debbie; and | ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Dallas Ingemunson graduated from Newark High | ||||||
13 | School; he received an electrical engineering degree from the | ||||||
14 | University of Illinois before graduating from the DePaul | ||||||
15 | College of Law in 1965; and | ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Dallas Ingemunson married his wife of 60 amazing | ||||||
17 | years, Dodie Ingemunson, in Jacksonville in 1963, and they had | ||||||
18 | three sons, Gregg Ingemunson, Kirk Ingemunson, and Boyd | ||||||
19 | Ingemunson; and |

1 | WHEREAS, Dallas Ingemunson was named state's attorney by | ||||||
2 | the Kendall County Board on the day his second son was born; | ||||||
3 | and | ||||||
4 | WHEREAS, Dallas Ingemunson was elected and served six more | ||||||
5 | terms as state's attorney, and he was a driving force in | ||||||
6 | creating the State's Attorney Appellate Prosecutor Office; and | ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Dallas Ingemunson was a leader in Illinois | ||||||
8 | politics, serving as the chairman and treasurer of the | ||||||
9 | Illinois Republican Party, as chairman of the Kendall County | ||||||
10 | GOP, and as a mentor to many young public servants, including | ||||||
11 | former Illinois House Minority Leader Tom Cross; and | ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Dallas Ingemunson was an outstanding member of | ||||||
13 | his suburban community, serving as a Boy Scouts volunteer, | ||||||
14 | Little League coach, and chair of the Kendall County Plan | ||||||
15 | Commission; he helped establish the local 911 emergency system | ||||||
16 | and the Kendall County YMCA; and | ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, Dallas Ingemunson was a founding member of The | ||||||
18 | Royal Order of Raccoons Fishing Team and proudly served as its | ||||||
19 | Grand High Exalted Mystic Ruler; and | ||||||
20 | WHEREAS, When not in Kendall County or Camp Chin-Be-Gota, | ||||||
21 | Dallas Ingemunson could be found chatting in the former Senate |

1 | President's Office, playing a game of euchre at Norb Andy's in | ||||||
2 | Springfield, watching the Chicago Cubs, the Chicago Bears, and | ||||||
3 | the Fighting Illini sports teams, or attending any number of | ||||||
4 | his children and grandchildren's athletic endeavors; and | ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Dallas Ingemunson memory will live on through his | ||||||
6 | ten grandchildren and many nieces and nephews; and | ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Dallas Ingemunson was a dedicated public servant | ||||||
8 | who was committed to defending the little guy and fighting for | ||||||
9 | freedom and justice, making Illinois, and especially his home | ||||||
10 | of Kendall County, a better, safer place to live; therefore, | ||||||
11 | be it | ||||||
12 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | ||||||
13 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
14 | Dallas Ingemunson and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
15 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
16 | further | ||||||
17 | RESOLVED, That we celebrate Dallas Ingemunson's legacy of | ||||||
18 | caring deeply about his community and his devoted service to | ||||||
19 | the greater good; and be it further | ||||||
20 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
21 | presented to the family of Dallas Ingemunson as an expression |
