SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Jeffrey T. "Jeff" Hawotte of Rock 
4Island, who passed away on December 3, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jeff Hawotte was born to William "Bill" and Karen 
6Kay Hawotte in Moline on November 21, 1965; he graduated from 
7Moline High School; he served in the U.S. Navy and was 
8stationed in San Diego, California before being honorably 
9discharged and returning to the Quad cities; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Jeff Hawotte worked at a few local businesses 
11before he opened his own cleaning company, Cleaning by Jeff, 
12which he owned and operated for over ten years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Jeff loved spending time going on walks and 
14enjoying nature; he was a huge movie fan, especially of the 
15Star Wars franchise of which he had an extensive memorabilia 
16collection; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Jeff Hawotte was preceded in death by his sister, 
18Lynn Hawotte, and two grandchildren; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Jeff Hawotte is survived by his partner, Nathan 
20Derry; his parents; his daughters, Kayla Hawotte and Meagan

2granddaughter; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL 
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
5Jeffrey T. "Jeff" Hawotte and extend our sincere condolences 
6to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be 
7it further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to the family of Jeff Hawotte as an expression of our 
10deepest sympathy.
