SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of James Clement "Jim" Murray II of The
4Villages, Florida, who passed away on October 8, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jim Murray was born in Evanston on August 15,
61937; he graduated from St. Charles High School in St. Charles
7in 1955; he earned his Bachelor of Science in Animal Husbandry
8from Iowa State University in 1959; he married Dorsey Dee
9Spearing in Mundelein on July 5, 1963; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Jim Murray held a decades-long career in
11agricultural and commercial real estate; he founded Murray
12Commercial in St. Charles; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Jim Murray had rewarding associations with Future
14Farmers of America, ROTC, the U.S. Army, and The Chicago
15Farmers; he served as chairman of the Community Hospital in
16Geneva and was instrumental in the merger of Community
17Hospital in Geneva and Delnor Hospital in St. Charles, now
18known as Northwestern Medicine; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Jim Murray loved his family, his friends, his
20country, and cruising Penobscot Bay in Maine; he was very
21proud of his grandchildren's accomplishments and work ethic;

2    WHEREAS, Jim Murray was known for his wonderful smile and
3sense of humor; he will be remembered for living by his own
4edict; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jim Murray was preceded in death by his parents,
6John Robert Murray and Coralee Whitsett Murray; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Jim Murray is survived by his wife, Dorsey Dee;
8his children, Tara Elizabeth Murray and James Clement "Jace"
9Murray III; his daughter-in-law, Kathy Murray; his
10grandchildren, John Robert and Paige Elizabeth Murray; and his
11sister, Joan Murray Webster; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
14James Clement "Jim" Murray II and extend our sincere
15condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
16him; and be it further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Jim Murray as an expression of our
19deepest sympathy.
