| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
| 3 | to learn of the death of Robert G. Blair of Pekin, who passed | ||||||
| 4 | away on September 3, 2023; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Robert Blair was born to Russell W. and Hildred | ||||||
| 6 | R. (Moffitt) Blair in Chandlerville on August 10, 1933; he | ||||||
| 7 | married Shirley Deane Thrasher in Jacksonville on October 4, | ||||||
| 8 | 1952; he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Robert Blair worked in manufacturing and | ||||||
| 10 | corporation property at Caterpillar, Inc. in East Peoria for | ||||||
| 11 | 39 years, retiring in 1987; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Robert Blair was a former member of the Pekin | ||||||
| 13 | Jaycees, Pekin Moose Family Center #916, Pekin Elks Lodge | ||||||
| 14 | #1271, and the Sunset Hills Golf Club; he was a former member | ||||||
| 15 | of First Christian Church in Pekin and attended the Northwoods | ||||||
| 16 | Community Church in Peoria; and
| ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, Robert Blair loved spending time with his family, | ||||||
| 18 | especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and his | ||||||
| 19 | dog, Gracie; he also enjoyed traveling, golfing, and working | ||||||
| 20 | in his yard; and
| ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, Robert Blair was preceded in death by his parents | ||||||
| 2 | and his wife; and
| ||||||
| 3 | WHEREAS, Robert Blair is survived by his daughters, Diana | ||||||
| 4 | (Mike) Harvey, Janis (Scott) Elmore, and Linda (Randy) Bowen; | ||||||
| 5 | his grandchildren, Andrew (Johnna Billingsley) Harvey, | ||||||
| 6 | Nicholas (Allison) Harvey, Caitlyn (Cole) Radford, Tyler (Jen) | ||||||
| 7 | Harvey, Aleigh (Matt) Stauffer, Ivy (Matt) Grashoff, Erin | ||||||
| 8 | (Brian) Goudie, Corey (Nikki) Elmore, Stephanie (Sean) Ray, | ||||||
| 9 | and Matthew (Amanda) Holmes; his step-grandchild, Ashley | ||||||
| 10 | (Jake) Schneider; 15 great-grandchildren; seven | ||||||
| 11 | step-great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; one | ||||||
| 12 | step-great-great-grandchild; and his sister, Merle Fricke; | ||||||
| 13 | therefore, be it

| 14 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | ||||||
| 15 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of

| 16 | Robert G. Blair and extend our sincere
condolences to his | ||||||
| 17 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved
him; and be it | ||||||
