2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Robert Norman "Bob" Hetz, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on August 26, 2023; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Bob Hetz was born to Phillip and Kathryn Hetz in | ||||||
6 | Cordova on July 5, 1928; he graduated from Cordova High | ||||||
7 | School; he married Marjorie Nolan in Cordova on August 2, | ||||||
8 | 1952; he served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1955; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Bob Hetz worked as a farmer in Cordova and Port | ||||||
10 | Byron; he retired at the age of 65; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Bob Hetz was a member of the Cordova Baptist | ||||||
12 | Church; he volunteered at the Port Byron American Legion's | ||||||
13 | booth; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Bob Hetz enjoyed traveling to Wisconsin, | ||||||
15 | California, South Carolina, Florida, and other places to visit | ||||||
16 | his children, extended family, and friends; he also enjoyed | ||||||
17 | spending time with his friends, dancing, and visiting casinos; | ||||||
18 | above all, he loved being at home, playing cards, and spending | ||||||
19 | time with his family; and
| ||||||
20 | WHEREAS, Bob Hetz will be remembered for his infectious |

| |||||||
1 | smile, cheerful disposition, thoughtfulness, and humor; and
| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, Bob Hetz was preceded in death by his wife; his | ||||||
3 | parents; his brother, George; his sister, Betty Horn; and his | ||||||
4 | infant sister, Grace; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Bob Hetz is survived by his children, JoDee | ||||||
6 | (Jerry) Lawrence, Tina (Roger) Hillestad, Dr. Rob (Jean) Hetz, | ||||||
7 | and Roger (Kari) Hetz; 12 grandchildren; 24 | ||||||
8 | great-grandchildren; his companion, Ardyth Nolan; his cousin, | ||||||
9 | Shirley Script; and his friends, Aime VanDriessche, Yvette | ||||||
10 | VanDriessche, Dan Talerico, and Mari Talerico; therefore, be | ||||||
11 | it

12 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | ||||||
13 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of

condolences to | ||||||
