|
2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
3 | | to learn of the death of Charles Logan "Chuck" Luallen of |
4 | | Aledo, who passed away on August 16, 2023; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Logan Luallen was born to Artie and Alice Burress |
6 | | Luallen in Odon, Indiana on May 13, 1928; he attended schools |
7 | | in Odon; after his father's passing in 1940, he and his mother |
8 | | moved to Woodhull, Illinois; he entered the U.S. Army in 1946, |
9 | | and he served in the 63rd Infantry Regiment in the Philippines |
10 | | and Korea; he married Ella Mae Kernan at the Aledo United |
11 | | Methodist Church on December 31, 1949; and
|
12 | | WHEREAS, Logan Luallen worked as a truck driver his entire |
13 | | career; he was employed at Murdock Trucking Co. of Aledo for |
14 | | almost 30 years until the business closed; he was later |
15 | | employed at Adrian Trucking Co. in Milan until he was 65 years |
16 | | old; he continued to drive locally for various farmers for a |
17 | | few more years before finally retiring in 2009 at the age of |
18 | | 81; and
|
19 | | WHEREAS, Logan Luallen will be remembered as a gentle, |
20 | | soft-spoken, hardworking, and loving husband, father, |
21 | | grandfather, and great-grandfather; and
|

1 | | WHEREAS, Logan Luallen was preceded in death by his |
2 | | parents; his sisters, Jessie Sterling, Cora Connour, Juanita |
3 | | Holmes, and Esther Holmes; and his brothers, Raymond, Firman, |
4 | | Sherman, Ira, Clarence, Harold, and William Luallen; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Logan Luallen is survived by his wife; his |
6 | | daughters, Donna (Jerry) Lee and Kathryn (Brian Hochgurtel) |
7 | | Luallen; his son, Chuck Luallen; his grandchildren, Gerald |
8 | | Matthew Lee, Wendy (Otto Baechli) Lee, Keeley Luallen, Wyatt |
9 | | Luallen, Brooke (JP) Giraldo, and Sarah (Flamur) Luallen; his |
10 | | great-grandchildren, Tessa Baechli Lee, Kai Lani, and Marlee |
11 | | Giraldo; and several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
|
12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL |
13 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
14 | | Charles Logan "Chuck" Luallen and extend our sincere |
15 | | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved |
16 | | him; and be it further

17 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
18 | | presented to the family of Logan Luallen as an expression of |
19 | | our deepest sympathy.
